I didn't say that!

The written word is a powerful weapon. It can make or break one. It can make one look stupid or put one on a pedestal. The writer writes, the editor edits. And together they come up with a wonderful piece of 'story' - a well written prose, an exceptional work of fiction.

Now i know how celebrities feel when they read about themselves and how words they say are totally distorted and taken out of context. A simple "I love to chill out at a bar" becomes "I tend to be somewhat of an alcoholic" when it comes out in print. I suppose what was truly said wasn't as 'newsworthy', so writers/editors embellish and stretch the truths. After all, they have a responsibility to readers to make the reading material as interesting as possible, right? Who needs scruples nowadays?
