Wow.
First Softhard with a great comeback album.
And now, I just heard Grace Ip's newest EP.
Wow. What a sound. She can give hocc a run for her money, especially since ah c seems bent on trying to put the 'rock' behind her.
I hope Grace will continue with this sound (cos I think it suits her and we need more rocker chicks!) To think that she wasted all those years in EEG and them making her sing karaoke cantopop songs all that while. And then they froze her for going out with a guy. Yup - EEG, the then dark lords of the HK music industry.
It's been about 5 years she's been out of the scene as a result of the fall out with EEG. But now she's back. And what a way to come back!

All songs written, arranged and produced by the ultra talented Eric Kwok (who happens to be her boyfriend.) Lyrics by Wyman and Lam Jik. Album published by Silly Thing. Which, isn't really 'silly' considering they're not one of those huge music conglomerates, which means Grace might have a say in what she wants to do instead of been dictated to do stuff she doesn't want to do. Let's hope so, and that she sticks to the band sound and rock, yea!
Actually, she reminds me of hocc in her earlier years - the hocc I dearly miss now. The raw sound, the rock attitude, the casual wear.
Rock on Grace! If HK listeners don't know how to appreciate your music, that's just because they're ignorant and have no taste. Get in there and kick some ass!
